Meanwhile office chairs may still be contributing to bad posture and health problems, with three out of ten people (27%) saying \u2018more comfortable chairs\u2019 would make them feel happier and healthier in the office.<\/p>\n<p>The minimalist trend in interior design seems to be crossing over to workers\u2019 expectation of the office space &#8211; one in five (22%) of those polled said office clutter bothers them.<\/p>\n<h3>Astonishingly, the most basic improvements comfortably beat the more \u2018exciting\u2019 options such as:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Fun areas to let off steam (17%)<\/li>\n<li>Bar\/coffee\/lunch area (17%)<\/li>\n<li>Massage (6%)<\/li>\n<li>Yoga (6%)<\/li>\n<li>Sleep pods (11%)<\/li>\n<li>Areas for exercise (9%)<\/li>\n<li>Showers (7%)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The poll suggests that most employees have a good idea of what improvements could be made to their office. Only 2% said nothing would improve their office<\/p>\n<p>Barry Koolen, Regional Managing Director at Crown Workspace commented:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe results from this survey were surprising; especially considering all of the hype surrounding office perks such as sleep pods, yoga and even unlimited sweets. These results demonstrate that something as simple as natural light is much more important to British workers.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWhere it is not possible to increase natural light, office managers could consider adjusting indoor lighting to replicate natural light and moving over-flowing filing cabinets into the cloud.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Crown Workspace survey also revealed the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Workers in Northern Ireland are the most contented with their office space \u2013 15% said it couldn\u2019t be improved.<\/li>\n<li>Workers in the North West are the most light-starved &#8211; half (49%) ranked more natural light as the top way to improve their working conditions.<\/li>\n<li>People working in the arts and in sales are most in need of windows; over half (52%) of those polled who work in these sectors demand more natural light.<\/li>\n<li>A third (32%) of women polled were not happy with their office chair, compared to only one in five men.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sleep pods, office yoga and an on-site masseuse \u2013 as glamorous as it sounds Britain isn\u2019t interested!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":10,"featured_media":1560,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-582","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"acf":[],"contentshake_article_id":"","yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v28.5 (Yoast SEO v28.5) - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-premium-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Fancy a massage or yoga in the office? - Crown Workspace<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Sleep pods, office yoga and an on-site masseuse \u2013 as glamorous as it sounds Britain isn\u2019t interested!
