AIA to relocate staff during their four-year redevelopment

Relocation of 900 staff to temporary offices

AIA Group Limited has started a four-year redevelopment of its 1960s-era property in Wan Chai into a glass curtain wall grade A office tower. This 22-story building is going to be worth an estimated market value of HK$8 billion (US$1.02 billion) upon completion.

The project was to relocate 900 staff to temporary leased offices in Hopewell Centre in Wan Chai. The project also encompassed removing large fixtures from the building.

Eight months pre-move planning

Crown’s involvement was over a four-week period, but the project planning began eight months before the physical move. We worked in collaboration with the AIA project managers and other key stakeholders including IT managers, Facility managers and building companies. All parties worked together to plan and map out the requirements of the move.

Crown Workspace completed the project using our specialized trolleys to transport the furniture and IT equipment.
