Vivo’s integrated services encompass design, innovation, and development, making it a significant player in the smartphone industry.
Challenge/Problem: Ensuring a Seamless Factory Relocation
Vivo Mobile, the third largest smartphone brand in India, needed to shift its factory operations, including 15000+ machines and parts, to a new location in Greater Noida, Jewar Airport.
To ensure uninterrupted production and timely fulfillment of market supply and demand, the entire plant needed to be relocated without halting operations or dispatches. Given the critical nature of the machinery, it was imperative to handle them with utmost care. The vehicles transporting the equipment adhered to a prescribed speed limit of 30 km/h, as recommended by Vivo Industrial engineers.
This complex task required meticulous planning and coordination among multiple vendors to ensure minimal disruption to operations. The challenge was to execute the move efficiently while maintaining the integrity of the equipment and meeting tight deadlines.

Solution Implemented: Strategic Planning and Execution
To address this challenge, Vivo Mobile engaged several vendors, including Crown Worldwide, which adopted a strategic approach to manage the factory shift. Key steps in the solution included:
1. Initial Meetings and Site Visits:
- First meeting on 30th of August 2023.
- Follow-up meeting on 20th of September 2023.
- Visit to Delhi to meet the Purchase Director on 27th of October 2023.
- Team visit to the Farukhnagar warehouse on 8th of January 2024.
2. Pilot Project:
- Conducted on 10th of January 2024 to test the process with 1 SMT line (18 machines).
3. Execution Plan:
- Execution started on 1st of February 2024.
- Big machine loading (22ft length and 3-ton weight) completed in 3 minutes and 14 seconds.
- Off-loading point managed in 31 seconds of Big Machine.
- Scope of Work (SOW) included wooden pallets, loading, stacking in the truck, moving, offloading, and moving to the workshop gate.
4. Continuous Monitoring and Communication:
- 24/7 tracking of execution.
- 2-3 surprise visits per week at the execution site.
- Weekly meetings with key stakeholders.
- Addressing pain points from both the internal team and the client.
Results/Impact: Successful and Efficient Factory Shift
The project was successfully executed, with the bid won on 8th of March 2024 and the execution period from 13th of March 2024 to 16th of June 2024. The key results and impacts included:
- Efficient Execution: The factory shift was completed within the planned timeline, ensuring minimal disruption to Vivo Mobile’s operations.
- Effective Communication: Regular meetings and surprise visits helped in promptly addressing any issues, leading to smooth execution.
