Recycle, Reforest, Repeat: Saving 119 trees from being felled

Crown Records Management UAE is committed to achieving sustainability and driving positive impact through locally-focused initiatives.

In alignment with Crown’s global sustainability agenda, we are continuously striving to improve our practices and processes with the aim of making a meaningful and lasting difference in our community.

Our UAE Employee Sustainability Committee, which was formed as part of our ongoing efforts towards sustainability, recently participated in the Emirates Environmental Group’s (EEG) annual ‘Recycle, Reforest, Repeat’ (RRR) campaign, which encourages the wider community, including households, communities, and public and private sectors, to join in their paper recycling campaign.

Along with more than 1,200 participants, they helped plant 3,023 native saplings of the Samar tree in a pristine sanctuary for bees, supporting a sustainable habitat for the local wildlife to thrive and helping reduce the impact of carbon emissions.

As part of this campaign, we asked our customers/clients to donate any paper/documents they no longer needed, and for every 1,000kg of paper donated, a sapling of a local tree would be planted. Our donations directly contributed to saving 119 trees being felled!

Collectively, the project recorded a total of 279,932kg of paper from 103 participants across the UAE – the highest since its inception in 2016.

The Crown Worldwide UAE team were honoured to be pictured alongside the event’s patron, H. E. Engr. Sheikh Salem Bin Sultan Bin Saqr Al-Qasimi, and Mrs Habiba Al Mar’ashi, Co-Founder and Chairperson of EEG.

“As desertification continues to pose a growing threat worldwide, I am thrilled that Crown was able to have contributed towards this ongoing combat, and it gives me great satisfaction to know that our efforts have made a positive impact on the environment.”

Jason Evans, General Manager, Middle East
