A central government department required internal consolidation preparation for the recommended return-to-work programme for 350 staff following easing of pandemic restrictions.
Move management with packing and internal relocation was required, followed by a sustainable clearance.
Crown’s flexibility helps overcome logistical challenges
The Solution
Following a site visit which included a furniture audit, Crown’s Move Manager put together a 2-phase weekend programme to fulfil the client requirements and prepared a quote including potential rebate value for redundant items to be sold through Crown’s Office Resale division.
In the initial stages of the project, existing desking and selected storage items were cleared by the Crown team, with the unwanted furniture being taken for sorting and reuse by the Sustainability division.
Locker boxes were provided for filing, with Crown’s Moves specialists supporting with packing assistance for the bulk filing.
Following the clearance, Crown Interiors assisted with the installation of workbenches for 350 staff members.
The Crown Move Manager was on site for both weekends’ move phases to support the effective delivery of the project, especially useful when road closures and a broken service lift meant that the logistics of the move were unable to proceed as planned.
Results
Despite logistical challenges including negotiating a demonstration that created road closures, the service road being closed for a film shoot, and the goods lift experiencing a malfunction, the Crown team’s flexible attitude meant that we were still able to deliver the project within the required timescales.
A rebate was provided to the client to offset the cost of the relocation, through the resale of redundant furniture through Crown’s Office Resale channel.
