Carter Lemon Camerons – providing a sustainable relocation

Crown’s complementary services ensure a smooth move for law firm

Due to expansion, the London law firm Carter Lemon Camerons wished to relocate their Aldersgate Street offices to a newly refurbished office in King Street. Through an established partnership with Crown Records Management, Crown Workspace’s relocations division was requested to quote for the move, including a sustainable clearance of redundant items.

The scale of the relocation included a team of 45 legal and support staff, confidential filing, communal items, furniture and desktop IT. A particular challenge to the project was access, with limited opportunity for vehicles to unload at the new property’s closest car park during daytime hours.

Crown put forward a competitive and comprehensive quote which was accepted by the client, with the move scheduled to take place within December 2021.

Flexibility and sustainability: all part of the service

The Solution

Following a site visit, Crown Workspace’s relocation division forged a collaborative partnership with the client to ensure that detailed operational plans were put in place. This relationship ensured that the team were able to flexibly manage logistical challenges including access limitations and pandemic-related delays impacting the timeframe.

Pre-move support was provided to the client with the supply confidential recycling bins and the packing of the contents of the Deeds Room and the communal kitchen/dining equipment.

The transfer of secure filing and deeds was fulfilled by Crown’s security-cleared team, with personal items relocated to a new flexible locker environment to help the firm embrace new ways of working in the new property.

Part of the move requirements was for Crown’s IT specialists to assist Cater Lemon Camerons’ IT service provider with packaging and transfer of desktop IT, followed by positioning onto the new desks in King Street, ready for recommission.

As the relocation was to newly furnished premises, Crown Workspace managed the sustainable clearance of unrequired fireproof cabinets and some redundant furniture through a specialist partner, also delivering some items to two churches in Elephant and Castle, and Beckenham, who had requested some of the unwanted furniture. This delivery was included by Crown as part of the quoted clearance service. The clearance was completed on schedule in order to adhere to the timeline for handover to the landlord within the lease period.

Crown Workspace’s comprehensive service offering meant that following an established relationship with Crown Records Management, the Relocation team were pleased to be able to assure Carter Lemon Camerons a seamless relocation service with the support of in-house specialists to fulfil IT and secure filing moves as well as a sustainable clearance.
