Creating a safe environment for leading engineering provider’s returning staff

A safe return to work for employees

Our client, a leading engineering and construction solution provider, required support in preparing their office space for the return of their employees across two buildings. Like many other organisations when COVID-19 hit, the client closed the doors of their European hub.

They wanted to ensure a safe and secure working environment, as well as create an attractive space to encourage employees to return to the office.

Understanding needs and expectations

A key area of concern were the washroom areas. They wanted to create a suitable design to ensure staff have their personal space and can adhere to social distancing.

Our interiors team worked closely with the client to uncover their needs and ensure a safe environment through bespoke design.

Creating an open and airy environment

The solution was to install various glass screens to create individual spaces for anyone using the urinals and washbasins. This provided a feeling of personal space whilst still maintaining an open and airy environment.

Our interiors team provided a visual representation of how the screens would look in place. This allowed the client to fully understand the new design.

Meeting expectations under tight time constraints

After finalisation and approval on the washroom design, the glazing panels were manufactured to the required specification and installed into their two buildings.

It was important for the client that the design change did not seem like an afterthought. Our interior designers focus on ensuring the new screens complement the existing space and look part of the initial design.

Working to a tight timeline, the client was thrilled with the result; which exceeded their expectations.
