AllianceBernstein Holding L.P. is a global asset management firm providing investment management and research services worldwide to institutional, high-net-worth and retail investors.
The client required a full relocation to their new site at 60 London Wall, following their relocation they required their previous office in 50 Berkley Street to be cleared.
Crown supplied a Project Manager to assist with the relocation project as well as to manage and oversee the clearance of the 500-position clearance.
Crown supplied the crates and labour to carry out the required staff relocation in one 8-hour shift.
We were then tasked with the clearance of the 500 staff at the 50 Berkley Street site; the overall clearance took place over 13 x 8-hour shifts.
The project was completed within a tight timeframe.
As part of our clearance services, the clients’ assets were assessed to see if they had a current market value to create a financial saving on the project by avoiding recycling. As a result, we were able to take 711 items for our resale department which equated to a rebate of roughly £107,000.
Using our Giving Back Project, we were able to support Waverley School with the donation of 117 items. Waverley School is a local authority maintained special school for pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties. One of Crown’s sustainability coordinators recently visited the school to understand the impact of the donations on the student’s lives. The furniture donated to the school is used in their classrooms and allows the school’s funding to be channelled where they need it most. Gary, one of the Waverley School’s teachers, said:
“Your donations have saved the school thousands; you have no idea what a difference they’ve made!”
As well as the above, Alliance Bernstein reused 22 items of furniture in their new office space.
All of this totalled 850 items reused which equated to 12 tonnes diverted into reuse, this is the same as providing 10 homes with energy for a year or fully charging 6,500,000 smartphones.
