Case Study

Transfer of surplus furniture from Glasgow to The Netherlands

As part of Sabio’s post Covid-19 workplace utilisation project and their ESG strategy, Crown Workspace were approached to provide a dismantling service, furniture collection, and transfer to their Netherlands office.

The opportunity arose because of Sabio’s Utrecht office relocation and furniture requirement for that location. It was more cost-effective and sustainable for Sabio to repurpose the furniture as a part of this project, therefore Crown collected:

  • 26x operator chairs
  • 4x high-backed chairs
  • 2x jig tables
  • 1x hi-table
  • 8x bar stools
  • 1x small meeting table
  • 4x chipper leg chairs

The collection was carried out at an agreed date and transferred to Holland on a consolidated load basis. The delivery was carried out with the assistance of our local service partner who also assisted with the reassembly of the hi-bench desking.

The client was delighted that they were able to deliver surplus furniture away from landfill, supporting their own CSR policies in the meantime.

The Dutch branch were initially looking at spending money on new furniture, so by carrying out this transfer, Sabio has benefitted immensely from major savings against purchase of new product.

“A big thanks to the Crown Workspace team; the guys were great!”
