A high-tech relocation and installation project
At the end of 2020, the UK branch of a global data protection and management company wished to move into a new, fully refurbished HQ that would accommodate the changing needs of the 250-strong team, many of whom have adapted to working from home.
After providing a competitive quote, Crown Workspace won the tender to provide relocation and installation services for this move project.
Working hand-in-hand for optimum flexibility
Crown Workspace established a strong partnership with the client’s FM team to provide a flexible service under challenging pandemic conditions. The client was very pleased with the result of the project as well as the competitive price. The services we provided included:
- Site visits to understand full requirements
- Bespoke relocation plan to fit client brief
- Packaging supply for protection of kitchen and IT/AV items during transit
- IT decom and recom of 97 existing monitors
- Installation of AV and workspace equipment
- Relocation and instalment of kitchen equipment
Crown’s Project Manager collaborated proactively with the clients’ FM team to plan the relocation, building a strong rapport which supported a flexible working atmosphere during challenging pandemic conditions.
A detailed audit process enabled the teams to identify only the necessary equipment, with unwanted IT equipment remaining in the vacant building for separate disposal.
Kitchen equipment, 97 monitors and several TVs required relocation and installation in the new property, which were carefully packaged and transported by the Crown specialists, under liaison with the site contractor and the FM team. A total of 260 operator chairs were also packaged and re-installed at the new site.
The clients’ FM Manager asked team members to visit the vacating premises under social distancing conditions to pack and label personal belongings into cartons for removal.
Installation took place in phases, with the Crown team working to minimise disruption for the client. Crown’s IT team also fulfilled the recommission of the 97 monitors which were being reused as well as installing the new equipment.
“Penny was excellent. She got to know the team and took on full responsibility and the move was successfully carried out. All work was seamlessly coordinated through our FM team and Crown Workspace.”
