Crown Workspace join UK Business Leaders in call for Green Recovery Plan

On Monday 1st June more than 200 leading UK businesses, investors and business networks presented an open letter to the Prime Minister. It was signed by CEOs from across the economy offering support to the Government in tackling the present health crisis but urging him to provide a clear vision for recovery efforts that align with the UK’s wider social, environmental and climate goals.

The letter, signed by 206 business leaders states: “With the UK facing major economic and social concerns including the risk of high unemployment and rising regional inequality, we believe that an ambitious low carbon growth and environmental improvement agenda can do a lot to address these concerns, as well as make the UK economy better prepared to deal with future shocks such as those related to climate change.”

Crown Workspace’s Regional Director for UK and Ireland Phil Oram was one the signatories “We have always taken our social and environmental responsibility seriously. However, in recent years we have embraced and invested in sustainability as a core strategy and we have seen the benefits this brings to our clients, staff and wider environment and society.”

Phil continues, “We recognise there is a significant challenge in building back the economy. But from first-hand experience we have seen how more sustainable business not only reduce environmental impacts but also build economic and social resilience and as such we are happy to support Business in the Community and the other business leaders in asking for the Government to prioritise a responsible growth strategy.”
